Governor DeWine to deliver second State of State address on Wednesday

After taking the past two years off because of the pandemic, Governor Mike DeWine will be delivering his second State of the State address on Wednesday.

Governor DeWine to deliver second State of State address on Wednesday

DeWine gave his last state address in 2019. The governor lost that annual chance to talk about state issues due to the coronavirus pandemic, but ironically he became the most viewed governor in state history by giving dozens of daily and later weekly online news conferences documenting Ohio's efforts to slow the spread of the coronavirus.

In DeWine's first and only address, he called for raising the gas tax to pay for road repairs, funding for clean water initiatives, and education. He was able to get those measures passed and in place. He returns to the statehouse Wednesday for the last address of his first term.
