The group has been around for many years, originally formed to prevent the closure of the Joint Systems Manufacturing Center. Today, attendees appeared both in person and over a video conference call to discuss future production, hiring more veterans, and how state organizations are contributing or want to contribute to the continued success of the plant. Plans are also being made to meet with newly elected government officials, to get them familiar with the tank plant and its needs.
The Lima Family YMCA hosts No School Days to give kids a fun day while school's out. The program lets them play sports like soccer, volleyball, and basketball. They could also play board games, watch a movie, and went swimming. The kids were happy to have somewhere to go instead of staying at home or going outside in this weather.

The Lima Kiwanis Club hearing from the Ohio District Governor David Kuhn about the need for additional membership and how to recruit them. He says Lima is doing well in the cultivation of younger members in their service leadership programs. They have programs in the Lima City Schools, Heir Force Academy, Ohio State Lima, and adults with disabilities through the Allen County Board of Developmental Disabilities.

Former Dayton mayor Nan Whaley met with local union representatives for a round table discussion. Whaley listened as attendees told her about the impact unions have had on their lives and their concerns about the current job market. She emphasizes the importance of bringing more and better jobs to the state.
The organization was approached to see if they could help restore a POW and MIA sign on Conant Road between State Routes 81 and 117. After examining the sign, they decided to replace the whole thing and put up a flagpole beside it. The Chained Eagles were involved when the original sign was put up around 30 years ago, and they are glad they can continue the tradition to keep the messages alive for now and in the future.

It was feeling rather scary and festive for a Halloween party Tuesday night at the Bradfield Community Center in Lima! The Friends, Allies, & Neighbors network known as FANS, the Employment Service's Club, and Voices of Prosperity partnered together to host a Halloween party for the community and individuals with developmental disabilities.
History came to life at an Allen County park, as people traveled back to the second World War and didn’t have to leave the county. The Lauer Farms 1944 organization hosted the weekend long event. The park was the campsite and battlefield for reenactments of World War II. Plus, the historic farmhouse also recreated what it was like on the Homefront during the same time. There were dozens of actors taking part to entertain and inform the thousands of spectators the came out. Organizers of the event say that it's all about keeping history alive, that otherwise would be lost to time.
