Heggins says the downtown location will also show their students a variety of different career paths, with neighboring buildings that house arts, politics, and businesses within a few blocks from the school.

"And to see those kids walk into the new building, see the smiles on their faces, seeing them relish in this new environment. I couldn't be more proud for my entire team for us to be at this particular point," says Dr. Willie Heggins, executive director of Heir Force Community School. "

While the students settle into their new school, this is just a one-year deal for the elementary, as Heir Force will begin work at 799 North Main Street next month.

"That will be the new home for the primary school, and this location here at 216 North Elizabeth Street will be our permanent middle school," adds Dr. Heggins. "This move is great because it gives us stability to go from serving approximately serving 250 kids to about 400 kids on an annual basis. That was the impetus to make the move downtown."

Heggins says the downtown location will also show their students a variety of different career paths, with neighboring buildings that house arts, politics, and businesses within a few blocks from the school.
