LOGAN COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - As clean-up efforts continue in Russells Point and Lakeview, Ohio will be reopening Indian Lake State Park this Friday.
Governor Mike DeWine says thanks to Ohio Department of Natural Resources employees, volunteer groups, and community members, Indian Lake State Park will reopen 15 days after the EF-3 tornado struck that region. The only part of the park that will remain closed is Fox Island, which still has extensive damage, including down trees and a shelter house that was destroyed.
The tornado was 1,000 yards wide and was on the ground for 31 miles. Three people were killed and around two dozen were injured during the storm. For boaters, modifications to the no-wake zone will be made because of the debris in the lake.
