INDIAN LAKE, OH (WLIO) - State officials visited Logan County to look at the aftermath of the deadly tornado that struck last night.
The Logan County Sheriff has confirmed that there were three deaths; everyone else has been accounted for.
The National Weather Service says it was an EF-3 tornado that struck Lakeview and Russells Point. Governor Mike DeWine, Lieutenant Governor Jon Husted, Senate President Matt Huffman, and other state leaders toured the damage left by the tornado. DeWine says that Ohio will be behind Indian Lake to make sure they are ready for the summer tourist season.
"So I am here today, again, to express my sympathy for those who lost their lives, for the family that have lost someone or someone that had been injured. And so many many people that have lost their businesses and who have also lost their homes. This Indian Lake community will come back that is the message I got from everybody," spoke Governor Mike DeWine.
Between 4 and 5 thousand people are without power in the Indian Lake area. The state officials say they will help with resources to get the area back on its feet.
