OTTAWA, Ohio — Ottawa-Glandorf opened a new era in dominant fashion Friday night, rolling past Liberty-Benton 52-7 in the season opener at Titan Stadium.

The victory marked the first game for new Ottawa-Glandorf head coach Ben Kaufman, who takes over after Ken Schriner's legendary 30-year run leading the Titans.

Ottawa-Glandorf wasted little time getting on the scoreboard.

On the Titans' opening drive, Oscar Salsburey took the handoff and raced 67 yards for a touchdown to put Ottawa-Glandorf ahead 7-0.

The Titans added another touchdown through the air when quarterback Tanner Vogt rolled to his left and connected with Carson Yaeger for a score, making it 14-0 after the extra point.

Vogt added a touchdown of his own on a quarterback draw as Ottawa-Glandorf continued to pull away, extending the lead to 21-0.

Liberty-Benton answered with a touchdown from quarterback Connor Barbara. With no receiver open downfield, Barbara tucked the ball and ran for the Eagles' first score of the night.

Ottawa-Glandorf responded before halftime. Vogt connected with Deegan Miller for a touchdown with less than a minute remaining in the half, giving the Titans a 35-7 advantage at the break.

The Titans continued to add to their lead in the second half, cruising to a 52-7 victory.

The win gives Kaufman his first victory as Ottawa-Glandorf's head coach after spending years as an assistant under Schriner.

For Liberty-Benton, the loss came in Jason Peters' first game as head coach. The Eagles are also beginning a new chapter as they enter their first season in the Northern Lakes League after going 12-1 a year ago.
