LIMA (WLIO) - The defending Toledo City League champion Lima Senior opened its season with a 42-13 win over Piqua at Spartan Stadium, earning its fourth straight season-opening win over the Indians.

Lima Senior's defense set the tone early, with AmarrI Cheatom intercepting Chris Davis to set up Amontre Williams' touchdown run.

Freshman quarterback Eli Kerber then connected with Jeff Williams for a 64-yard touchdown before finding Da'Kaden Taylor for a 71-yard score. Kerber finished his first start 31-of-40 for 416 yards and five touchdowns.

Williams had a record-setting night as well, hauling in 16 catches for 221 yards and three touchdowns as the Spartans opened the season 1-0.
