LIMA, OH (WLIO) - A big day of giving at Lima Central Catholic Schools as the generosity of others will help their students.
Donations coming in by mail, by hand, by phone, and even through the walk-up window, the annual One Day of Giving is the school's largest fundraising effort. Classes competed against each other to see who could raise the most. Not just current students but alumni as well in support of the school.
"It helps us with our programming, us being able to recruit and retain talented staff and teachers, as well as maintaining our 70-plus acres campus here at LCC. The majority of the funds that we collect at LCC are private funds and they are monumental to the success of the school. Mainly because there's such a gap in terms of what we have for tuition and what the cost to educate each student is," explained Kayla Nocera Zehery, director of the institutional advancement of LCC.
The money raised will be matched dollar for dollar by a group of donors that came together prior to today's One Day of Giving to double the money. You can still donate by going to https://www.lcchs.edu/.
