A special meeting was called to council chambers Monday evening to continue the discussion of the mayor's salary.
For several months council could not come to an agreement on the mayor's pay. After Monday nights back and forth debate, council as a whole finally compromised after voting three separate times. The first motion for a 120,000 dollar salary lost, as well as the second motion for 127,500 dollars.
The meeting was so charged an audience member was escorted out by police. Legislation for the new salary of 123,500 dollars per year will go before council Monday, December 5th.
