The board is made up of 12 people including members of the city’s administration and elected officials, Lima School Board, community members, and members of the chambers of commerce. The first meeting basically set up the by-laws for the Community Improvement Corporation and elected the president and other office holders for the board. “The CIC is a nonprofit organization that's able to manage real estate transitions. So, our goals are to acquire dilapidated housing or vacant properties, vacant and abandoned homes, and either rehabilitate or construct new housing on those lots,” says Susan Crotty, Community Development Director for Lima.

Lima’s Community Improvement Corporation will be meeting on a monthly basis.
