CELINA, Ohio (WLIO) - People celebrated the magic of words Saturday afternoon as the annual Grand Lake Area Literature Festival took place at Tri Star Career Compact.
The event brought together 25 authors and illustrators from various locations to share their works and talents with the public. Authors catering to all ages and interests were present to sign and sell their books. The festival featured crafts and activities for children, as well as Reading Excellence Awards presented to young readers in the area who made great strides this year. Over the past four years, the event has gained significant traction in the community.
"From the get-go, we've had amazing community support. Now I think families, teachers, everyone's starting to remember this is happening every spring, and they get excited for it. I think that is part of why we've had an incredible turnout today," said Michelle Houts, author liaison for the Grand Lake Area Literature Festival.
Organizers also extended their gratitude to all the volunteers who helped make the event possible.
