October 30, 2024, Press Release from Habitat for Humanity of Findlay/Hancock County: Findlay, OH — Habitat for Humanity of Findlay/Hancock County held its Annual Celebration Dinner on Tuesday, October 29, to celebrate and thank the volunteers, donors, and partner organizations who have assisted Habitat to stabilize and shelter families throughout 2024. During the year Habitat completed four homes, 22 critical home repairs and served 350 coaching clients through the Financial Opportunity Center. During the evening’s events, Executive Director Wendy McCormick shared a sneak peek into the 2025 affiliate goals and its 25th anniversary activities.

The United Way of Greater Lima kicked off its new fundraising campaign and thanked the supporters for their last one. The 2024 campaign goal is 1.6 million dollars; that money will help fund 40 different programs at United Way's 36 partner agencies. The programs that get the funding need to promote the United Way's core values of health, education, or financial stability. Each dollar you donate can go a long way to help area nonprofit organizations.

It can be the difference between going to college or not; financial aid is a big part of getting your post-secondary education. Toledo Tomorrow, a non-profit organization that assists individuals in completing the FAFSA form, was at the Lima Public Library. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid is the key to the eligibility for grants and other funding from the college you want to attend. Education specialists say they can't express enough the importance of completing the application.
