WAPAKONETA, OH (WLIO) - Their need has doubled and a local non-profit is looking to the community to help give their neighbors a Merry Christmas.
This is the second year for Christmas Jubilee, where a group of volunteers has worked together to provide assistance to people in need in Wapakoneta. The requests from families have more than doubled as 95 families have requested assistance. They currently have gift tag trees around the city and are working to provide a holiday meal for the applicants.
"We still need monetary donations to help provide for the food. We need people to take those tags of the gift trees and go out shopping and we are in need of about 20 bicycles," said Becky Puff, Christmas Jubilee chairperson.
Puff says any donation will be appreciated. The gift trees are located at 33 businesses around Wapakoneta. You can find those locations on their website https://www.christmasjubileewapakoneta.com/. The deadline for donations is Sunday, December 10, 2023.
