A mobile zoo made its way to a Lima nursing home.
Lima Convalescent Home residents and staff were able to come outside and not only enjoy the great weather, but pet some zoo animals as well.
The Jungle Island Zoo, a mobile exotic animal petting zoo set up in front of the home where goats, alpacas, and more were available for residents to pet and interact with.
"It's just a great event, I mean with COVID restrictions and the pandemic over the last couple of years, we thought that this was a nice safe event for everybody to be able to participate," said Jessica Trinko, Executive Director at the Lima Convalescent Home. "And just, you know, seeing the excitement, watching them see the zoo be unloaded, it was just so heartwarming."
Staff at the home were able to bring their families to see the petting zoo.
