October 14, 2024, Press Release from the Office of Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost: (DELAWARE, Ohio) — The former chief executive officer of the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium was sentenced to 7 years in prison today for his role in a scheme that defrauded the zoo of at least $2.3 million, Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost announced. Tom Stalf had pleaded guilty on July 23 to 15 felonies, including aggravated theft, conspiracy, telecommunications fraud and tampering with records.

The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium has conservation projects going on locally and around the world.
A mobile zoo made its way to a Lima nursing home. Lima Convalescent Home residents and staff were able to come outside and not only enjoy the great weather, but pet some zoo animals as well. The Jungle Island Zoo, a mobile exotic animal petting zoo set up in front of the home where goats, alpacas, and more were available for residents to pet and interact with.
