GLANDORF, Ohio (WLIO) — Putnam County's new EMS station is on schedule and expected to be completed this fall.

The $5.8 million, 14,000-square-foot facility will serve as the new home for Putnam County EMS, with modern living quarters and in-house vehicle bays for first responders.

It will replace the current station, a 1970s ranch-style home on the property. That building will be used for training exercises before it is eventually demolished.

County officials say the new facility will give crews more room to live and work while also improving response times.

Putnam County's new EMS addition on track for fall completion

The $5.8 million, 14,000-square-foot facility will serve as the new home for Putnam County EMS.

"In this new building, we'll get a quick response time instead of the crew having to walk from the house over to the current building to get a squad. So, we're probably looking at about 90 seconds quicker to respond," said Brian Hilvers, director of the Putnam County Office of Public Safety.

Hilvers said the facility is expected to be completed by mid-November.
