The Ohio General Assembly passed Senate Bill 215 this week. The bill would change a current law that requires Ohioans to go through a background check and receive training to obtain a CCW permit. The Allen County Sheriff's Office says that there are important factors to keep in mind when it comes to the bill, such as what happens if you leave the state.

"Most citizens are law abiding citizens and can carry guns and we have no problem with that," commented Matt Treglia, Allen County Sheriff. "But one thing I think that people should realize is why CCW, concealed carry, are so important because even with constitutional carry, you still won't be able to carry out of the state of Ohio. With the CCW, you can almost carry in every state in the United States but when you leave here as a constitutional carry, if you try that in other states, you could be breaking some felony laws."
