The Board of Park Commissioners with the Heritage Trails Park District were busy Tuesday Evening inside the Wapakoneta Chamber of Commerce with budgetary and future event planning. Currently, hundreds of people are involved in the district's 2023 Cabin Fever Hike Series, which is part of the Grand Lake Health System Road to Fitness Program, but the district is already looking further ahead.

In a recent phishing scam, cybercriminals are using real Facebook pages to impersonate Facebook itself. It starts with a fake email stating your account will be deactivated unless you click a link. That leads to a spoofed website that looks like a real Facebook login, which allows scammers to take hold of your account. Whether it be a comment, message, or e-mail, scams often come with urgent headlines designed to grab your attention, and the better business bureau warns any link can be suspicious.

Because of the upcoming Christmas holiday, the Lima-Allen County Regional Transit Authority will not run fixed bus routes, and riders must call to reserve a microtransit ride. Fares are $3 each way within one zone of operation, and $6 if you travel from one zone to the other. On Christmas Eve, the service will be available from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will be closed until the following Tuesday.

Outside of Black Friday, Cyber Monday is the most popular day for people to make a dent in their holiday wish lists.   According to the National Retail Federation,  nearly 64 million people are expected to log on Monday to shop online.  But retail websites are not the only ones looking to lure shoppers to their site,  cyber criminals will be busy trying to be the grinch to ruin everybody's Christmas.

This is the third year for the fairgrounds and Mercy Health to team up for the Bright Nights display. They have added about 40 new displays for people to check out, and half of them are thanks to small businesses and families in the area who put up $26,000 to include them on the drive-thru lights exhibit. With all the new displays, there is a revised route to make everything fit, and it will take about 25 minutes to see them all.
