WAPAKONETA, OH (WLIO) - Superior Credit Union looks to the future as it honors the past with its newest branch office in Wapakoneta.
Superior Credit Union held an open house to mark the opening of its 25th location, which is across from the Armstrong Air and Space Museum. Because of their neighbor, the inside of the branch has a lot of Neil Armstrong and space-inspired decorations. Around 25 years ago, Superior opened its first location outside of Allen County in downtown Wapakoneta. But the city's second branch is also moving the company forward in the future of banking.
"This is actually a new prototype that we've been doing. We've actually started these down in Cincinnati, and we have done one up in Toledo. This is actually a tellerless type of operation," explained Phil Buell, President and CEO of Superior Credit Union. "So, we actually can automate everything. With this one now, we really put some skilled folks to help members and really help them with their everyday needs. But there is a lot of stuff that you can do yourself now through automation. So, they are here to help you, but if you still want that other convenience, we have that one downtown for you."
The new location is close to I-75, located at 413 Apollo Drive, allowing customers to have easy access for their banking needs.
