The Lima Salvation Army's Red Kettle Campaign kicked off Monday. You can find them at area Chief Supermarkets, Kewpee locations, and Hobby Lobby. Kettles will be out at local Walmart and Sam's Club starting November 18th. This year's goal is set at $130,000. The money raised will support their Christmas efforts and the ongoing mission of the Salvation Army throughout the year.

"The mission is to help others. That's really what it's really all about. And that can be a variety of things. That could be Christmas help, that could be help with rent, utilities, things that go on year-round because that's what this all does. It helps us not only at Christmas but throughout the entire year. This is our big collection time," said Paul Downing, operations manager at the Lima Salvation Army.

They are always looking for volunteers to ring the bells. It's a great opportunity for families, organizations and individuals. You can contact Paul Downing at 419-224-9055 prompt 5 to set up a time.
