For 19 years, Rockford churches and volunteers have been helping individuals and family have a place to go on Christmas Day.  

Locally and around the world, Christians are taking time to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ by coming together in worship.  

A Putnam County church recently returned from western North Carolina to make sure children affected by Hurricane Helene can have a merry Christmas. Saint Mary Catholic Church in Leipsic recently delivered around $100,000 worth of toys as Christmas gifts to the Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministry Christmas Angel Program in Arden, North Carolina. The Leipsic church made it their mission to bring Christmas joy to North Carolina as their holiday service project after hearing the Christmas Angel Program would assist over 2,500 children this year.

A Lima landmark reaches the century mark and continues to bring faith and service to the south side of the city. St. John the Evangelist Parish celebrated their 100th anniversary of the dedication of their church building.

Bishop Dennis Walsh makes a trip back to visit his former parishes in Delphos, Landeck, and Spencerville.  He talks about being named the head of the dioceses of Davenport, Iowa a little over two months ago.  

It has become a holiday tradition in the Lima area. The South Side Christian Church's "Holiday Treasures" bazaar is at the end of this week. Members of the Disciple's women's group at the church work all year crafting and creating. The bazaar dates back to the 1950s, raising money for local non-profits, and it also provides fellowship for those who work on the sale. Members say they are blessed to be able to help others with the sale.
