Three Lima women involved in Henry County car crash, two injured, one killed

A Lima woman lost her life in a crash in Henry County Thursday night. 

HARRISON TOWNSHIP, OH (WLIO) - A Lima woman lost her life in a crash in Henry County Thursday night. According to law enforcement, 21-year-old Katelynn Hinkle of Lima died from her injuries at the scene. She was the backseat passenger in a car driven by 19-year-old Deliela Martinez, also of Lima. Martinez ran into a semi driven by 64-year-old Alan Shupert of Decatur, Indiana, at the intersection of U.S. Route 6 and State Route 109 in Harrison Township around 9:30 p.m. The Henry County Sheriff's Office says Martinez failed to yield the right of way to the semi. She and the front seat passenger, 19-year-old Morgan Mayer of Lima, were both taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the semi was treated on the scene and released. The crash is still under investigation.
