LIMA, OH (WLIO) - A local business is doing their part to make sure as many kids as possible have something under the tree this Christmas.
For the 76th year, the Tom Ahl Family of Dealerships teamed up with the Marine Corps to raise money and collect gifts for the Salvation Army's Toys for Tots program. This year, they were able to contribute around $3,000 worth of action figures, dolls, clothes, and all sorts of other things that will make countless kids happy on Christmas morning.
"What can you say? You're helping a kid. There are kids in this world, unfortunately, that just would probably otherwise not get anything. So it means quite a bit to me as a person and a member of the Marine Corps, knowing that we contribute to kids that are probably less fortunate and would do without," said Shannon Nichols, the commandant for the Marine Corps League Detachment 1063.
If you would like to make a donation, Toys for Tots collection boxes can be found at businesses around town through December 15th.
