AUGLAIZE COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - One person was life-flighted to the hospital after a two-vehicle crash in Auglaize County Wednesday afternoon.

The Wapakoneta Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol says that the crash happened just after noon on County Road 25A near Leon Pratt Drive in Pusheta Township. 57-year-old Jon Bair of Minster was turning onto County Road 25A when it's believed that he was struck by 38-year-old Brett Eley of Wapakoneta. Eley was taken to Miami Valley Hospital by Careflight. Bair was not injured. Both were wearing safety belts. The crash remains under investigation.


September 11, 2024, Press Release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol: Pusheta Township - The Wapakoneta Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a two-vehicle injury crash that occurred on September 11, 2024, at approximately 12:12 p.m. in Auglaize County, Ohio. The crash occurred on CR25A near Leon Pratt Drive in Pusheta Township.

Mr. Jon P. Bair, age 57, of Minster, Ohio, was operating a 2021 Freightliner Cascadia while turning left from a private drive onto CR25A southbound. Mr. Brett W. Eley, age 38, of Wapakoneta, Ohio, was operating a 2010 GMC Yukon while traveling northbound on CR25A.

The preliminary investigation indicates the GMC struck the Freightliner.

Mr. Bair was not injured. Mr. Eley sustained injuries from the crash and was transported to Miami Valley Hospital by CareFlight.

Mr. Bair and Mr. Eley were both wearing safety belts at the time of the crash.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol Crash Reconstruction Unit, Wapakoneta Fire Department, Wapakoneta Police Department, and Auglaize County CERT also responded to the crash.

The crash remains under investigation by the Wapakoneta Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
