The University of Northwestern Ohio is adding a program to their Diesel Technology Division.
The university partnered with Mack and Volvo to bring the Diesel Advanced Technology Education Program. Students will be able to work with these dealerships to get experience with Mack and Volvo trucks, giving them job opportunities immediately after completion. Students must complete an associates degree in their core diesel program then must meet requirements and go through an interview process to be admitted to the DATE program.
"The appealing thing for the dealerships is that the students will be at a professional level status, leaving the DATE program," Adam Prusakiewicz said, AG/Diesel Division Head for UNOH. "It'll cut their certification time down in half for achieving their master technician status."
UNOH is the third school in the country to implement this program.
