LIMA, OH (WLIO) - The Jegna Corporation continues its efforts to reach out to local youth before it's too late.
Participants learned about topics like emotional literacy, setting goals, and how trauma can lead to unhealthy behavior.
"Know Your Rites" was another of many workshops organized to teach kids, parents, and professionals who work with youth about the challenges faced by young people today and tactics to keep them on the right path. Several guest speakers held separate sessions catered towards each group, with boys and girls breaking into their own groups as well. Participants learned about topics like emotional literacy, setting goals, and how trauma can lead to unhealthy behavior.
"This is not just about youth. Our youth have failed at times because we have failed as adults, and as parents and adults, we have failed maybe because we're not getting enough proper support all the time or the full support from professionals. And this is just a way to bring everybody together; let them know that we do this together," said Emmanuel Curtis, CEO of the Jegna Corporation.
The Jegna Corporation also invites the public to a free community block party on Friday (8/02) from 4 pm to 8 pm. at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church, located at 1406 St. Johns Ave., Lima, OH 45804.
