LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — It was a busy Sunday at Lima Central Catholic as the school hosted its youth flag football league.
The Lima affiliate of the National Association of Blacks in Criminal Justice is hosting a free financial literacy workshop for students in grades 8 through 12. The event aims to teach essential money management skills and help teens prepare for future financial decisions.
While temperatures may be warming up for now, Old Man Winter is just around the corner, and one local organization is preparing to help keep area youth warm.
“This year’s show was another great success,” said one organizer. “Even with the heat, the community came out strong, and we’re proud to support these groups doing meaningful work.” Among the non-profits receiving funds was the Veterans Food Pantry of Northwest Ohio, Warriors Way, Spread the Love, The Love Luggage Project, Westgate Angels, All Star Pet Rescue, Soldiers of Honor, and The Arc of Lima.
