Allen County Commissioners approved more than $600,000 in grant funding for improvements at the Allen County Airport. The funds will be used for drainage reconstruction design and upgrades to apron lighting to enhance safety and operations.

“The current lighting is nearly 50 years old,” said Airport Board Member Dave Buettner. “It's dark about half the time, and we do have operations that take place during those hours, and it's important that it's lit up and also help the staff. For instance, if they have airplanes bringing freight in or going out overnight, life flights are another area where it's really important for it to be well lit.”
