LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — The Allen County Airport will receive more than $600,000 in combined federal and state funding for infrastructure improvements after approval by the Allen County Commissioners.

The commissioners authorized the acceptance of grant dollars through the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Airport Improvement Grant Program. The funding will support multiple projects aimed at upgrading the airport’s facilities.

According to officials, the funds will be used for the preliminary design of a reconstruction project for the airport’s drainage system, as well as improvements to the airport’s apron lighting. Both projects are intended to enhance safety and efficiency at the site.

The total amount awarded through the grants is just over $600,000.
