Tourette Awareness Month runs from May 15 to June 15. The campaign aims to increase understanding and support for those living with Tourette syndrome and other tic disorders.
It was a full house at St. Marys City Council as a federal official from Washington D.C. traveled out to Auglaize County. On Monday evening, United States Ambassador for the Embassy of the Republic of The Marshall Islands, Charles Paul, spoke to council and residents. Ambassador Paul's visit was due to public concerns made in the October 28th council meeting that Marshallese communities are buying churches in St. Marys to house multiple families. In an interview last Friday with St. Marys Mayor Joe Hurlburt Jr., Mayor Hurlburt stated that a church was previously purchased but only as a place for worship. After council, we spoke with Ambassador Paul about what key messages he addressed.
Students at North and West middle schools along with high schoolers zoomed in with two former United States Ambassadors. It was part of the schools ‘Closing the Achievement Gap” program to introduce the students to the possibilities that are out there for them when it comes to choosing a career.
Page has been an ambassador for 3 years. Ambassadors attend ribbon cuttings, grand openings, and calling on businesses to promote their participation with the chamber. She says it’s a great way to also get her and the company’s name out in the community.
The Lima Flag City Honor Flight took over 20th Century Lanes today for a fundraiser to try to bring Veterans to their place of honor.
The Honor Flight believes that if America felt that it was important to build a monument to honor the sacrifice veterans made, then every Veteran deserves to experience and visit it themselves.
