GROB has moved from making components for combustible engines to electric vehicles to looking at making components for batteries for those vehicles. Along the way, the skill sets of their workforce continue to be more advanced and so does the training needed for the apprentices that will be working at GROB. Community colleges like Rhodes are ready to train students, whatever the need that manufacturers have.

Rhodes state college getting recognized by the federal government for their program teach and train the future workforce. The Lima college was named an Apprenticeship Ambassador by the U.S. Department of Labor. It is for their efforts to promote, expand, and diversifying registered apprenticeships. Rhodes state is one of over 200 institutions across the county to be named an Apprenticeship Ambassador and they will work with the others to find ways to expand regional programs.
