The Bath Drama Club is getting ready to present their first-ever play that opens Saturday night! Drama club students at Bath High School hosted a dress rehearsal Friday evening for their families performing "The Seussification of Romeo and Juliet." The play utilizes a comedic approach to the William Shakespeare's classic "Romeo and Juliet" through an integration of the whimsical literary styles by Dr. Seuss where the story of the Shakespearian characters are conveyed through funny jokes. Even though the play is a fun-filled journey of the retelling of Romeo and Juliet's romance, the theater setting helped teach students involved critical life skills.

The governor and lieutenant governor have awarded Bath Local Schools to receive a little over $2 million in career tech grant money. With this multi-million dollar grant coming to the school district, school administrators will be using the funds to further expand and build upon career technical education in fields like health sciences, engineering, and manufacturing at Bath. It's a tradition to put on these food and drink stalls around the fair, and also to get the students themselves involved. If you stop by one of these stands, you may see students from the schools working a shift. Whether they're a student athlete or a member of the band, they say that the support from these fundraisers plays a big part in being able to do what they love while in high school.

The United Way of Greater Lima created the first ever "Rivals United" Campaign this year. County schools compete to raise money for the non-profit through spirit week participation, penny wars, and t-shirt sales. Not only are the districts competing against each other, but the different grade levels in each are too. For Bath Local Schools, their elementary has shown to be a leader. The 5th grade class alone has collected $600 so far.

Students from Bath and Allen East Local Schools teamed up to show parents the S.A.D.D. reality many of today's teens face on the party scene. Bath and Allen East Students Against Destructive Decisions put on a mock party to show parents the reality their teens can face at high school parties, whether it’s peer pressure to drink or do drugs, sexual assault, or things that some students may see as more harmless.

The Ohio Department of Education has released information about how school districts performed during the last school year, but with changes to the way the information was presented, not all school districts are happy with the system.
