BATH, Ohio (WLIO) - Bath Local Schools announced the appointment of Drew Cano as the district's next superintendent.

A motion was approved to hire Cano to a three-year contract, effective August 1, 2026, through July 31, 2029, with 260 days per year. Originally from Delphos, Cano has been serving as superintendent for Hardin Northern Schools and will be leaving to take on the same position at Bath. He will replace retiring superintendent Mike Estes, whose last day is scheduled for July 31. Cano noted that the Bath district is high-achieving and represents a strong opportunity.

"When you look at the leaders of the district, they've been here for a while, which means they have really invested into Bath, and it's a great community. I don't know why anybody wouldn't be attracted to Bath, because from everybody I've talked to in the district, it's a great place to be," said Drew Cano, incoming superintendent for Bath Local Schools.

Cano added that this is like a dream come true for him and that he is eager to begin his new position with the district.
