Lima chapter of the NAACP is praising that the Allen County Sheriff's Office Deputies are now equipped with body cameras.
“We really chose the Lima Citizens Police Academy to really strengthen the relationship between our local law enforcement and our community,” said Samuel White Jr., project team lead for the class. “I believe there's a lot of negative perception around our police department, and so we really want to build that trust, that transparency with our police department with this academy.”
The Lima Police Department brought in a retired police chief from Raleigh, North Carolina to speak to officers about community oriented policing.
