Students from the Northwest Conference go head to head in the 3rd Scholastic Bowl Tournament. Ohio State Lima hosted the competition, which pitted teams from eight conference schools against one another in seven rounds of questions in areas like history, science, math, and pop culture. There are varsity and junior varsity divisions for the tournament, with a winner crowned in each category. The tournament continues the competitive nature between the schools that goes beyond the athletic courts and fields.

Members of the Putnam County Fair Board can be found throughout the fairgrounds working on multiple projects. From showing animals to managing the competitions themselves, each year junior fair board member are very busy to ensure that the fair runs smoothly.
More than a dozen students participated in the 30th annual Allen County Spelling Bee, an event that organizers said truly prepares kids for the future.
“Being a good speller is going to help them academically from now until college and throughout their whole life,” said Shannon Bowers, Allen County Educational Service Center director of gifted students. “Also I think it builds self-confidence and public speaking skills.”
