Good Food Restaurants owner John Heaphy thanked firefighters who were first on scene at a fire that engulfed a building that he was remodeling on Spring Street. The fast response and quick thinking of these men saved the lives of three construction workers who were trapped on the roof. The fire department was also able to save a portion of the structure that will be used for future development.

The downtown Lima art museum ordered pizza and subs for the construction workers who are hard at work at the town square roundabout. Sally Windle, the executive director of ArtSpace/Lima, says that she wanted to provide a nice meal and a cool place for the workers to cool off to thank them for their work on the roundabout project, one that many in the town square are looking forward too.
The closure is expected to last 45 days and drivers are asked to take alternative routes. But vehicles will be able to travel in the 100 block of South Main Street starting on Friday. Market Street will continue to have temporary lane restrictions at the intersection during the construction. The work is weather permitting.
