The Allen County Regional Airport is wrapping up a multi-year improvement project at the facility. They are getting a $1.3 million federal grant that will repair all of the taxiways at the airport. There is also a 5% state and a 5% local match, which the airport is funding. The taxiways are the last major repairs that need to be completed.

The State of Ohio has received nearly 45 million dollars in federal grant funding to eliminate lead-based paint in homes, and Lima will get a portion of that money. The funding is coming from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development and Lima will see two million dollars to be used in programs to control and reduce lead paint hazards. Governor Mike DeWine announced a plan this past spring that will combat lead poisoning, through more screenings and expanding the workforce to deal with the problem in homes and apartments built before 1978.
