They are getting a $1.3 million federal grant that will repair all of the taxiways at the airport. There is also a 5% state and a 5% local match, which the airport is funding. The taxiways are the last major repairs that need to be completed.

"We have resurfaced the entire runway. We have added grooving to it, which improves the safety of breaking and aircraft movement on the runway. We have completely redone all our airport lighting. Replacing incandescent lights with LED lights. Improved all the airport lighting that aids in safe landing and, of course, movement at night and things like that," said John Pisle, president of the Allen County Regional Airport Authority Board.
