LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - The city of Lima is starting a grassroots campaign to slow traffic down.
Mayor Sharetta Smith and city engineer Ian Kohli announcing Wednesday that Slow Down Lima is their effort to address resident concerns of speeding through their neighborhoods. They're putting the Lima Police speed trailers around town, began a social media campaign for Slow Down Lima, and now they're offering free yard signs.
"Really what we're asking residents to do is, one yard sign, people may drive by, but if you can get several neighbors on your block to put up several yard signs and people are really seeing them and it makes an impression," said Kohli said.
