The Allen County Historical Society’s March Living History Lounge focused on the county’s early hospital and medical care history, led by board member Herb Lauer. Attendees learned about diseases faced by early settlers and Fort Amanda’s role as the first medical facility in the area.
One person was transported to the hospital this evening following a three-vehicle crash between Lima and Spencerville. The crash happened around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of Fort Amanda and Grubb roads, with the Spencerville Fire and EMS along with the Ohio State Highway Patrol responding.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol says just before 5:00 p.m. Friday, the call came in of an accident on Conant Road and Ft. Amanda Road near the Auglaize and Allen County line. Law enforcement hasn't released much information to media yet, but say the Auglaize County coroner was called in and one driver died, and the driver in another vehicle was transported to St. Rita's with unknown injuries. They say Shawnee, Cridersville, and Spencerville fire departments responded.
Allen County will be adding load limits on seven bridges, but it is not because of the condition of the bridges.
On Friday July 14th just before 5 p.m., Shawnee Township Police and Fire Department responded to the 5800 block of Fort Amanda Rd. for a report of an accidental shooting.
At 5:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, a white SUV traveling eastbound on Fort Amanda Road failed to yield at the Wapakoneta Road stop sign, resulting in a collision in the intersection.
