An Allen County jury will decide the fate of a man accused of opening fire on Lima police during a traffic stop.
A Lima man accused of shooting at police officers during an Oct. 31 traffic stop is scheduled for an April 27 trial and faces up to 120 years in prison if convicted.
Mark Seffernick, 61, was sentenced in 2024 to 15 years in prison on five counts of felonious assault with gun specifications. Seffernick appealed the mandatory sentences on the counts, which ran consecutively, arguing the judge imposed them solely “to protect the public.”
