It was the annual auxiliary craft show. Hundreds of volunteers have been working year-round to make the crafts filling the tables. There were also homemade candy and baked goods along with raffle baskets. The proceeds from the sale go towards the million-dollar pledge the auxiliary made to the graduate medical education center. Organizers say it was wonderful to see everyone out supporting them as it was the first street fair since the pandemic.

This is the 30th year the chamber has held ChamberFest, their largest event of the year. Hundreds came to the Veterans Memorial Civic & Convention Center downtown to take part in the festivities. From Plinko to Texas Hold'em, there was plenty for attendees to do. Local restaurants were also invited to showcase their menus. Organizers are glad to be able to bring a taste of Vegas to chamber members every year.

What a way to take advantage of some great fall weather on Sunday than go for a hike and that is what hundreds of people did for the annual Walk with Nature Fall Festival.  The event showcases Miami Erie Canal Towpath in St. Marys and encourages people to take a walk to visit the many different activities along the way.  There was pumpkin painting, a car show, medieval battle re-enactments, and many vendors selling craft items.  Plus returning favorite the Girty’s Town Rendezvous, which recreates small settlement that was along the St. Marys River back in the 1700’s.   Thanks to organizations like the St. Marys Kiwanis Club the event has been a community staple for 53 years.

Hundreds of handgun shooters came to test their skill at first ever competition for Lima area.  The GLOCK Sport Shooting Foundation is a group of GLOCK shooters & enthusiasts ranging in all levels of experience from new shooters to experienced shooters and this weekend the Lima Sabres Shooting Association hosted one of their 55 regional matches GSSF holds.  Shooters from at least seven states are came compete this weekend in different shooting challenges.

The University of Northwestern Ohio and Ohio Means Jobs Allen County joining forces to provided graduating students and the public a chance to meet face to face with local businesses. There were 70 booths that those in search of jobs could stop to try and find that perfect fit for them. Both those searching for employment and employees say formats like this do work.
