For 23 years, Gliding Stars has provided opportunities for more than 500 individuals with disabilities through its ice-skating program. This year’s stars are ready to take the ice for a special performance at The Cube in Findlay on March 30th.
With the cold and harsh temperatures ramping up this winter season, nearby ponds and reservoirs are paving the way for ice activities such as fishing or skating. The Ohio Department of Natural Resources recommends four to five inches of ice before considering going out to fish. However, ice skaters are being told by officials to stay away due to the possibility of ice not being as thick at different spots.
