FINDLAY, Ohio (WLIO) - The Gliding Stars’ “Really Big Rock Show” took place Sunday afternoon.

The stars and volunteers have been practicing weekly since September for their big performance. With classics from bands like The Beatles, KISS, and The Beach Boys, everyone had a rockin’ time. Although they put on a spectacular performance, this program is about more than just the show.
"I first started because my friend Matt told me about it. He's like, Oh, you ice skate. You should do this. So I was like, All right, let's do it. And then I came and I met Taylor Rents, and she's my star, and I really bonded with her, so that's what keeps me coming back every weekend, just spending time with Taylor," said Gavin Weber, who is in his second year volunteering with the Gliding Stars.

"On and off the ice, we have great relationships. I know her, and I after skating practice we'll go and get a coffee together. And that's not just us; it's a lot of the other volunteers with their stars. So forming those relationships on and off the ice have been amazing to see," said Sydney Berlekamp, a volunteer since 2018.
"Some of these stars have been skating over 20 years, and we've watched them from very young to adults. And it's also been exciting for both my husband and I to pour ourselves into something that we are so passionate about and give back to the community. And I think you can see from the amount of people that are coming here today, the community loves us and they support us, and that is just thrilling," said Cindy Bregel, executive director of the Gliding Stars.
After 23 years with the Gliding Stars, this was Cindy's last show as executive director. Congratulations to Cindy and the Bregel family for all they’ve done for the program.
