LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Cenovus officials say crews are responding to an operational issue at the Lima Refinery that has resulted in increased flaring and visible black smoke.
A spokesperson for the company said refinery operations crews are addressing the issue according to standard response procedures.
As a result of the incident, residents may notice a larger-than-normal flare accompanied by black smoke coming from the refinery.
Company officials said air quality is being monitored while crews work to resolve the situation.
According to Cenovus, its top priority remains the safety of its employees, the surrounding community and the environment.
