LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Communities across northwest Ohio will celebrate National Night Out on Tuesday, bringing residents and first responders together for an evening of family-friendly activities designed to strengthen community relationships and promote public safety.
National Night Out has been held nationwide for more than 40 years, with law enforcement agencies, fire departments and local governments hosting events to build connections with the communities they serve. The City of Lima will host its event from 5 to 8 p.m. at Lincoln Park. Activities include free food, inflatables and emergency vehicle displays.
The Allen County Sheriff's Office will also host a National Night Out event from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Allen County Fairgrounds, featuring demonstrations, activities, food and more.
Several other communities are also hosting events Tuesday:
- Shawnee Township: 5 to 8 p.m. at Heritage Park
- Elida: 6 to 9 p.m. at the Elida Fieldhouse
- Wapakoneta: 6 to 8 p.m. at Harmon Park
- Bluffton: 6 to 9 p.m. at the Bluffton Community Pool, featuring free swimming and fireworks at 9 p.m.
- Ottawa: 6 to 8 p.m. at Memorial Pool, combining National Night Out with an Overdose Awareness and Recovery Celebration. Free swimming will be available from 4 to 8 p.m.
