September 4, 2024, Press Release from the Ohio Department of Commerce, Division of State Fire Marshal: COLUMBUS, Ohio – To help ensure transparency related to its grants programs, the Ohio Department of Commerce Division of State Fire Marshal has unveiled a new interactive online dashboard that allows users to easily, quickly and accurately search for grant funds that have been awarded to fire departments throughout the state. Information on the dashboard is available for each of the past five years. The new online resource is available to fire departments, media outlets and the general public, allowing easy access to up-to-date information regarding grant funding that has been awarded in support of MARCS (Multi-Agency Radio Communications), equipment and training initiatives. Additional key features of the dashboard include the ability to sort and filter grants by county and grant type, and also search for grants by individual department.
As students return to school, the Mercy Health-Saint Rita's Community Impact Team wants to focus on family health. They will be holding a Back to School Education Fair this Saturday. There will be some school supplies available; they are focusing on hypertension, smoking, and vaping education. They are encouraging families to take time to be together, to talk, and to take notice of how each of them is feeling.

The City Mission of Findlay offers a warming center during the coldest months of the year. Located at 510 West Main Cross Street, City Mission has a warm place to sleep, a hot bowl of soup, and a supervised safe environment for those needing shelter from the cold. The warming center is open from 8 pm to 8 am every day. City Mission will open its warming center on December 25, 2022, all day as well.
The Lima Police Department has posted information on their Facebook page on where homeless people can get shelter and a meal when the weather hits. Organizations like the Red Cross and the local soup kitchen have offered their services to those that are homeless. Lima Police Department will also be handing out food to those in need thanks to their gap program.
