Six homicides occurred within Lima in 2019. That’s one more than the yearly average Lima has seen. The Lima Police Department has worked to solve half of them and continue to work on the remaining three.

The first murder came early on, Jan. 15. Branson Tucker was found in a car and later died of his injuries. He was shot at a residence on St. Johns Avenue during a late night card game. Kenneth Cobb and Jerome Fuqua are suspected of his murder. They have trials scheduled for January and February respectively.

We start today with a follow up to a shooting we told you about last night, a man is now dead. We previously reported about a shooting on S. Metcalf St. around 7:45 Wednesday night. Police confirmed 47-year-old Jermaine Ingram has died after suffering multiple gunshot wounds to his chest. Police were called to 635 S. Metcalf St., where they found Ingram and transported him to the hospital. He died shortly after getting there. Two children were at the house when the shooting occurred. No weapon was recovered, but police continue to investigate.

On 10/30/2019, at about 7:45 p.m., Officers from the Lima Police Department were dispatched to a shooting at 635 S. Metcalf Street.  They arrived at the residence to find 47 year old Jermaine Ingram, shot inside of the residence.  Mr. Ingram was transported to Mercy Health/St. Rita’s, where life-saving measures were attempted, however Mr. Ingram died shortly thereafter, as a result of an apparent gunshot wound.
