According to the American Automobile Association, nearly 50 million Americans plan to travel this Independence Day. In Ohio, 2.2 Million plan to travel. This means that roads are expected to be more packed with drivers eager to start their holiday.  The patrol states that everyone should drive safe and avoid distracted driving, as well as pay attention to the roadway at all times.

Sgt. Justin Powell with the Lima Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol says, “Enjoy the Super Bowl, have a good time. We have an Ohio team there being represented that a wonderful thing. Have a good time. Nothings wrong with drinking. Nothing’s wrong with driving. Just don’t do the two together. So, designate a driver, stay somewhere, call a cab. Call an uber. Something like that. We just want you to get home safe.”
