AAA predicts a record number of Americans will travel during Memorial Day weekend as officials encourage drivers to prepare for heavy traffic and higher gas prices.
Communities in our area are gearing up for their independence day festivities. Whether you plan on going somewhere close or traveling a little further to celebrate the day, you will likely see more cars on the roads than normal. Almost 2 million Ohioans are expected to hit the roads at some point for the long Fourth of July weekend. The Lima AAA recommends drivers heading towards festivities practice safe driving habits on the road, even stopping every now and then to give themselves a break.
To help reduce the likelihood of younger children being injured in a car accident, the Lima AAA is making sure their car seats are as safe as possible. AAA is partnering with the Lima Community Church to provide free car seat checks to families in the area. They'll be set up in the Lima Community Church parking lot at 2945 N. Cole St. on June 8 from 10 am to 2 pm.
